The Church recognizes the need to fill the “pastoral gaps” that exist within our formation within the parish. First Fruits is a perfect follow-up to Baptism prep or preceding your First Communion prep program.

“In order to fill these “pastoral gaps”, specific vocational programs should be considered

as a way to continue offering basic catechetical formation and other forms of accompaniment,

so that parents can assist their children’s spiritual growth during childhood and adolescence,

and feel supported in this aim by a community with which they can share their reflections and experiences.”

Parents have a personal experience of dynamic Catholic family life within the parish.

Encourages families to become engaged in the faith community.

By focusing on God’s plan for family life, First Fruits encourages parents to become missionary disciples in their homes and communities, advancing the parish’s evangelization efforts.

First Fruits empowers couples and individuals to lead small groups, fostering leadership and personal apostolate within the parish.

The program extends the practice of the 12 Guiding Principles into homes throughout the month, helping parishioners integrate God’s plan into

everyday life in a sustainable and engaging way.

First Fruits is designed to be self-sustaining and simple to lead, making it a low-burden, high-impact ministry option for parishes of all sizes.

There is no cost to start.

FLEXIBLE AND PARISH-FRIENDLY BY DESIGN

First Fruits offers six thoughtfully planned gatherings per year—intentionally spaced to complement, not compete with, your parish

calendar. This rhythm gives families time to grow in faith together while leaving room for seasonal parish events, sacraments, and liturgical celebrations.

The parish program is a framework designed to integrate seamlessly into parish life, not add more to it.

SIMPLE STRUCTURE, FLEXIBLE FORMAT

You decide how the First Fruits parish program runs in your parish. You can host one large gathering and break into small groups onsite, or invite small groups to meet on their own—in homes or wherever life happens. If your groups meet outside the parish, you still can invite them together at your parish for a special gathering or regular parish events.

NO COST TO START—JUST A HEART TO SHARE


There’s no cost for your parish to begin First Fruits. Instead, we host two “Pay It Forward” pledge drives each year.

We’ll send you a short video to share with the parents during those times. All we ask is that you play the video and encourage them to give whatever they can, so First Fruits can continue to grow and reach more parents with faith, hope, and support.

If some aren’t able to give financially, they can still participate by inviting loved ones—especially grandparents—to support our Grandparents Giving Circle. It’s a beautiful way for extended family to be part of the mission.

This shared effort allows First Fruits to continue reaching more parents with faith, hope, and meaningful support—all at no cost to those who need it most.
